Michael Aron, MD
Dr. Michael Aron is board certified in hand and orthopedic surgery and has been practicing in the Hartford area for over 20 years. He specializes in hand surgery, shoulder and elbow surgery, and orthopedic surgery. Dr. Aron treats many upper extremity conditions including carpal tunnel syndrome, arthritis, Dupuytren’s disease, fractures, tennis elbow and rotator cuff tears.
Dr. Aron graduated from college at the University of Pennsylvania. He went to medical school at New York University in New York City and completed his orthopedic residency at Stony Brook, New York, followed by a hand fellowship at Jefferson Medical Center in Philadelphia.
He performs the most modern surgical techniques but is always conservative in his approach and will try to treat without surgery, whenever possible. Dr. Aron takes the time to understand not only the problem being treated but how it affects work, life and every day activities for his patients. When surgery is needed, he does many surgeries arthroscopically to minimize incision size and expedite recovery for his patients.
Dr. Aron has done voluntary medical mission work in the Philippines and is involved in working in the orthopedic clinic for the underprivileged at Saint Francis Hospital. He holds a teaching position at UConn Medical School and enjoys working with and teaching orthopedic residents.
In his free time, Dr. Aron enjoys boating and fishing on the Long Island Sound and skiing in Vermont.
